Loyalist Lancers playoff update

It’s reading break here at Loyalist College this week.

Here’s a recap as to where we are in the playoffs for the Lancers varsity teams.

The Lancers men’s team fell to Cambrian in Sudbury over the weekend. Cambrian beat the Lancers 3-1 in the quarterfinal round to knock them out of the playoffs.

Both Lancers teams continue their playoff runs. Over the weekend, the Lancers women’s team beat Redeemer 75-55. The Lancers finished off the regular-season with a perfect record, and for the first time in school history, won the OCAA East Division title. On the men’s side, the Lancers beat Lambton College 80-74.

Both Lancer squads have earned spots in the cross-over quarterfinal games. Loyalist will host the games coming up Sunday, March 1st. The women’s team will take on St. Clair at 1 p.m., while the men host Sheridan College at 3 p.m. This is the first time that Loyalist has hosted quarterfinal playoff games. The games are open to the public and free to attend. They are also streamed livestreamed through the Lancers YouTube channel or OCAA.com/live.
