
Volunteers are the backbone of our community. If you are looking to get out and about this spring, meet some new people, or share your skills, many organizations need help. Especially if you are a high school student looking to get your volunteer hours by June.
Here is the Volunteer Information Quinte Update for this week:
*The Quinte Bay Gymnastics Club is looking for volunteers this weekend (April 8-12th ) at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre in Belleville for assistance with their gymnastics competition. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Barb directly at

*Quinte Health is looking for auxiliary boutique volunteers at Belleville General Hospital. Volunteers provide customer service, arrange shelves, and conduct sales during shifts from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. or 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Training and orientation are provided.
*Pathways to Independence is seeking volunteer friendly visitors to spend a few hours a month visiting individuals at their supported homes for those living with the effects of an acquired brain injury or with developmental disabilities. Volunteers spend time socializing, conversing, reading, playing games, and sharing stories.
*Community Living Prince Edward is seeking volunteer instructors for their healthy eating/cooking program. Volunteers are trained with the program curriculum and are supported by Community Living throughout the opportunity. No experience is required, just a positive and eager attitude to support an inclusive environment while offering important, and fun life skills.
*YourTV is looking for volunteers for mobile production. Volunteers are required for various sites and show production, and can assist with set up and tear down, cameras, production, etc.
*Children’s Safety Village is seeking volunteers to assist with birthday parties in Belleville. Volunteers help create a fun, safe environment for birthday parties by assisting with set-up and clean-up, welcoming guests, leading games and activities, and supporting staff during the event. Birthday parties are held on Saturday mornings and afternoons.
*Crown Ridge Long Term Care Home in Trenton, is seeking volunteers to porter residents to and from the hair salon Tuesday through Friday each week. Application, criminal record check, and TB skin test are required.
*Hastings Centennial Manor in Bancroft is looking for volunteers to help mend clothing, buttons, zippers, etc. for residents who need assistance. Volunteers should have experience in sewing/machines.
*The Humane Society of Hastings and Prince Edward is seeking volunteer foster families for animals in need. Animals recovering from mental trauma or injuries require foster families to rehabilitate where a home setting is more beneficial. Volunteers can apply for this position but must have space to keep animals separate from other owned pets.
* The ROC in Prince Edward County is looking for volunteers to help mentor, supervise, and engage with youth and teens aged 12-18 during the ROC’s after-school drop-in program, Monday – Friday. A criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening is required.
Volunteer Information Quinte refers volunteers to more than 275 agencies throughout Hastings and Prince Edward counties.
