Premier Doug Ford has implemented the emergency brake.
The entire province of Ontario will shutdown starting Saturday, April 3rd for at least four weeks.
- Indoor gatherings are banned, expect for people in the same household.
- Outdoor gatherings are limited to five people.
- Personal services will be closed including salons as well as gyms, recreational facilities.
- Outdoor recreational spaces will remain open like parks and bike trails.
- Pet grooming and vet offices remain open
- Essential retail stores will have a capacity of 50 per cent while other big box stores and businesses will be down to 25 per cent capacity.
- Weddings, funerals and religious services indoors are capped at 15 per cent
- Schools and child-care centres will remain open and the April break will proceed.
- Indoor and outdoor seating is at restaurants and bars is banned.
Earlier today, health officials released new modelling that showed the daily cases could drop to 1,000 to 1,500 by the end of April under the shutdown.
