The federal government has announced that they will be extending the ban that is currently in place for direct passenger flights coming in from India and Pakistan.
Transport Minister Omar Alghabra says that the ban will be in place now until June 21st.
The move comes as concerns continues around new COVID-19 cases coming into the country during the third wave. The original 30-day ban that was put in place April 22nd, was set to expire tomorrow.
Air Canada does not fly to Pakistan, but extended their own ban to India last week ahead of this announcement.
