The Head Coach of the Trenton Golden Hawks has been nominated as the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s Coach of the year.
Peter Goulet is among has been nominated alonside:
- Pier-Alexandre Poulin, Condors du Cégep Beauce-Appalaches (LHJAAAQ – Quebec League)
- Brad MacKenzie, Grand Falls Rapids (MHL – Maritime League)
- Tyson Ramsey, Virden Oil Capitals (MJHL – Manitoba League)
- Corey Beer, Timmins Rock (NOJHL – Northern Ontario League)
Goulet and team competed against the Wellington Dukes in the Hasty P’s Cup in the fall, and a Spring Development Series.
The OJHL season was ultimately cancelled this year due to the pandemic.
Trenton also welcomed the Lindsay Muskies for two games in December.
All the series were completed successfully under strict COVID-19 protocols set by the league.
The CJHL’s award is named after Darcy Haughan and Mark Cross, who coached the Humboldt Broncos. They died in 2018 when the team bus was involved in a tragic collision.
