Municipalities across Eastern Ontario have issued a challenge to residents as we all enjoy the warmer weather.
Staff with Prince Edward County are encouraging everyone to walk bike and run throughout June, as apart of the annual Silver Chain Challenge.
“We have been cooped up inside for so long. Now that the weather’s nice, there’s no better time to get out your bike out or lace up your running shoes. Throughout the month of June and beyond, I encourage you to consider a more active way of getting where you are going if possible. You will be helping the environment and improving your health all at the same time,” said Mayor Steve Ferguson.
Residents can keep track of their kilometres and register on the Silver Chain Challenge website.
Those wishing to get out are reminded to continue to follow public health guidelines.
