Did you know secret vaults of maple syrup exist in Canada? Well, I suppose they’re not a secret anymore, but I didn’t know that before yesterday!
These vaults actually hold millions of barrels of the stuff. Quebec produces over 70% of the worlds maple syrup and has been keeping a vault full of it just in case global shortages ever happened. Lucky, huh?
They are releasing about half of the vaults supply after a very big drop in the amount from this years harvest, mostly due to the pandemic. They are doing this to avoid the price going up due to shortages.
Many other countries are making fun of Canada for having maple syrup vaults, but their pancakes and waffles are saved thanks to us, so I don’t know what’s so funny!
