Voters are heading to the polls today to select who will represent them at Queen’s Park.
The provincial election campaign has lasted a month. Some of the key issues include the pandemic, affordability, climate change and health care.
If you are registered and haven’t voted in the advance polls, you can find out what poll you go to by checking the registration card that was mailed out. Polls across Ontario are open between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. All you need to do is bring your registration card and a piece of identification.
Early polling numbers suggest that Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford has the lead. The projection site 338Canada.com is also forecasting that in the Bay of Quinte riding, Conservative candidate Todd Smith is in the lead with 48 per cent. He is the incumbent. The second person is Liberal candidate Emilie Leneveu at 23 per cent.
388Canada.com is projecting that Conservative candidate Ric Breese is in the lead in Hastings, Lennox and Addington. Second in the riding is NDP candidate Eric Depoe.
The website is projecting that the race is a little tighter in Northumberland-Peterborough South. Conservative incumbent David Piccini has the lead in the riding with 45 per cent, followed by Liberal candidate Jeff Kawzenuk with 32 per cent.
