“Each year during Convocation, Loyalist College is proud to honour an alumnus with the Hugh P. O’Neil Outstanding Alumni Award. Chief Callaghan is an exceptional ambassador of Loyalist College core values through his distinguished career in policing and tremendous contributions to our community, most notably with the recent partnership which saw the creation of the Belleville Police Service Indigenous Student Bursary. This partnership is an important step toward increased equity, diversity and inclusivity in our community, and will help to remove barriers to education for Indigenous youth,” said  Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan, President and CEO of Loyalist College, in a statement.
