A familiar face will be back in the lineup for the Trenton Golden Hawks.
The OJHL team announced in a statement this morning, that forward Sam Williamson is rejoining the team.
The 19-year-old from St. Catharines was about to play his first full OJHL season when the pandemic hit. Before the league called off the 2020-2021 season, Williamson was able to be apart of the Hasty Ps Cup, a December series, and a spring development series. Both the Hasty Ps Cup and Spring Development Series featured Trenton against the Wellington Dukes. Trenton then hosted the Lindsay Muskies for two games in December. The series were done in collaboration with the local health unit and under strict COVID-19 measures and precautions.
Leagues got back to a full schedule this past season. Williamson has been with the St. Catharines Falcons in the GOJHL.
Trenton’s head coach and general manager Jerome Dupont noted in a statement, that he saw Williamson play in Junior B while he was working as a coach at Brock University.
“He will be a top six-man in our line-up. Williamson is a heady player, who studies the game, and will make us a better team all around,” said Dupont.
