The City of Belleville has issued an update about where the storm clean-up is at.
The region was hit hard by a violent storm on June 16.
Staff have announced in an update this week, that crews have been collecting lots of branches and debris.
The curbside collection that has been offered to accommodate all the extra work, will now wrap up. Those who still need to get rid of debris can head over to the Leaf and Yard Waste Depot. The site on Wallbridge Crescent is going back to regular operating hours.
City crews continue to work through outstanding work orders for trees.
“I want to say a special thank you to all of our City staff who have worked extremely hard to clean up the city after the storm. It was a huge undertaking and their effort was often above and beyond the call of duty. They care passionately about our City and it shows. Thank you also to our residents for their cooperation understanding as we begin to move back to regular operations of the City. I am so proud of how our community has come together since this significant event,” said Mayor Mitch Panciuk, in a statement.
