The community came together recently at Belleville Fire Station 1 to celebrate the graduates of the Camp Molly Quinte program.
The four-day summer camp was founded by Belleville Fire Chief and Director of Emergency Services, Monique Belair.
She started the program while working in Oakville.
Chief Belair brought the program here in Belleville for the first time this year. A total of 35 grads were celebrated at the end of the camp. The program is designed to inspire and empower young women between the ages of 15 and 18. The joint effort between Belleville and Quinte West Fire Departments is all about showing women that there is a place for them.
This episode of “In Touch With Quinte” features a recap of the Camp Molly Quinte graduation and interviews with two grads.
Sisters Bridget and Sydney Caird joined us with their mother to talk about the experience.
