The Municipality of Tweed has declared a State of Emergency following the storm overnight.
The region along the Highway 7 corridor was hit hard by violent storms. There is reports of lots of trees and hydro wires down.
Hydro One’s Outage Map is showing about 2,000 customers still without power around Kaladar, Madoc, Tweed and Sharbot Lake.
Staff with the Municipality of Tweed have announced that their Emergency Control Group will meet today.
Residents in Tweed who have been impacted by the storm, are being asked to register at the Tweed Public Library. The site will be open until 8 p.m.
Staff add that this will allow everyone to get a better sense of where the damage is and what needs to be done. Drivers are being asked to continue to avoid side roads around Highway 7 near Tweed.
