The Municipality of Tweed remains in a State of Emergency following the violent storm two weeks ago.
Researchers with Western University’s Northern Tornadoes Project have recently confirmed that a tornado did touch down along the Highway 7 corridor during the storm on July 24.
Tweed staff have announced in a statement this week, that all the roads are clear. The team adds that the current fire status is listed as very high. Tweed continues to work with the different levels of government to assess property damage.
Residents can drop off brush at the municipal yard on Marlbank Road. Brush and trees are also being accepted at Byers Enterprises at a cost of $60 per tonne.
The water tap at the arena remains available to fill up large containers daily from 8:30 am and 8:00 pm.
