Belleville Police have provided an update about their Community Liaison Office.
Officers as apart of the team are going under a name change. The Liaison Officers will now be known as Community Support Officers.
Belleville Police note in a statement that the officers will be refocusing their duties to provide support for those dealing with addiction, mental health challenges and homelessness.
Community Support Officers continue to work closely with the Welcoming Streets outreach program in downtown Belleville. The program is run through Belleville Downtown District BIA. Sara Behring with the team is currently the outreach worker who assists those downtown.
