Loyalist College students and faculty are raising awareness on campus this week about trafficking.
On this week’s edition of Campus Conversations, we chat with program coordinator Tracy MacKenzie, along with students Monalique Knights and Marco Lattanzio.
MacKenzie is the coordinator of the Inspections, Enforcement, Safety, and Investigations program. The program and the College’s Police Foundations Program have partnered with the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development on an applied research project about trafficking.
The project’s goal is to determine how much labour trafficking and exploitation is happening within the College community, and provide awareness and training to students.
On Wednesday, the teams will be sharing some information with students and staff in the Dining Hall. The information session and project kick-off event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
