The old Duke Dome in Wellington will not have the luck of the Irish on its side come St. Patrick’s Day.
The vacant arena has a date with the wreckers that day – next Friday. Temporary road closures will be in place around the site on 230 Niles Street.
Prince Edward County has hired Budget Environment Disposal Inc. to remove the vacant building to make way for a new affordable housing complex. The 36 unit-site will be open next fall.
The County will be holding a public meeting on Monday, March 13 at the Wellington and District Community Centre. The discussion at 6 p.m. will take people through the demolition process.
