Many residents with waterfront properties, will be keeping a close eye on rivers and lakes this Easter long weekend.
Quinte Conservation has issued a flood warning today for Moira River and Napanee River watersheds.
The warning covers:
- Upper Moira
- Black River
- Skootamatta River
- Salmon River
- Napanee River
Officials note that we had roughly 40 millimetres of rain yesterday, which has had an impact on water levels. Quinte Conservation expects to see the Moira River downstream of Stoco Lake to Foxboro, to continue to rise. The water level could reach the banks by early next week.
Significant flooding is not expected in creeks along Prince Edward County.
Residents in low-lying areas are being asked to be proactive. To learn more visit QuinteConservation.ca.
