“beauty in the breakdown” is an acoustic pop rock song exploring themes of nostalgia and heartbreak. Bittersweet, self-referential lyrics, angsty, driving acoustic guitars and harmonized poignant vocals akin to blink-182, Secondhand Serenade and Avril Lavigne. This track is equal parts tender and resentful, modern yet familiar – reminiscing of a love story gone awry,” noted Robbins in an e-mail.
