Burn bans in place across the Quinte region

Hot and dry conditions have resulted in several municipalities issuing burn bans recently.

Here is a recap of where we are at:

• Stirling-Rawdon – Complete burn ban in effect. Local fire risk is at the extreme level.
• Tweed – Complete Burn ban in effect.
• Centre Hastings – Burn ban in place.
• Madoc – Burn ban in place.
• Prince Edward County – Full burn ban in effect.

Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will provide an update about the wildfire situation across the country. Fires continue to Quebec, Nova Scotia, Alberta and British Columbia. Officials say that as of yesterday, 156 fires were burning in Quebec.
