Belleville firefighters and police officers supporting Canadian Blood Services

Police officers and firefighters in Belleville are rolling up their sleeves this summer.

Belleville Fire and Emergency Services along with Belleville Police Service are teaming up with the Canadian Blood Service as a part of their Sirens for Life blood donation campaign.

“I have been a proud donor for over 25 years and know just how crucial ongoing donations are. With up to 50 donors needed to help a single crash victim, the need for blood never stops. Donating is easy, takes less than an hour to do and bottom line, it saves lives. I’d encourage everyone to consider booking a blood donation appointment,” said Belleville Deputy Police Chief Chris Barry, in a statement released by the City.

The first responders continue to encourage residents to donate blood this summer.

Appointments are available at the blood donor clinics on August 14, September 18, and October 9 at the Belleville Fish and Game Club. There is also room for the clinic at Maranatha Church on August 25.
