Works continues on the water main issue in Quinte West.
The City announced yesterday, that the boil water advisory has been lifted for residents in the northwest area of Trenton, Murray Ward, Consecon, Carrying Place, Kingfisher Cove, and Prince Edward Estates.
The advisory was put in the place for the Trenton water system on Tuesday, after a leak in the water main was discovered Monday. The leak was in the underwater line across the Trent River. Underwater divers have since put a temporary clamp in place.
Work on the main water line is expected to take two weeks.
During that time, Quinte West is installing a temporary line over the D.J. MacDonald Bridge, which is the reason for the shutdown today.
The bridge in Trenton is now fully closed to traffic until 1 p.m. The Quinte West OPP station will remain accessible through the Ontario Street and Meyers Street intersection.
