Belleville Police investigating suspicious fire at a former church

Belleville Police continue to investigate a suspicious fire last night at an old church.

Police and fire crews were called to 333 Church Street around 10:20 p.m.

The site was once the Church of the First Born, at the corner of Station Street and Church Street.

Belleville Police have announced in a statement, that investigators believe it is arson. There were no reported injuries. The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in as the teams continue to try to understand how the fire started and what caused it.
