Dancers will be taking over downtown Belleville this Saturday.
The DBIA is hosting “Dancing in the District” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Here is a list of the free shows:
* Dance Demonstration from Ireland Academy of Dance- 10 am: The Ireland Academy of Dance & Performing Arts strives to create an environment that promotes the optimal dance and performing arts ability in a student with care and sincerity to their individuality instilling the characteristic qualities needed to create a positive, well-rounded student.
* Square Dancing Lessons from The Quinte Twirlers- 11 am to 1 pm: Engage in the traditional art of square dancing with expert instructors who will guide participants through the steps and patterns that make this dance form so much fun.
* Dance Demonstration from The Ontario Dance Academy- 1 pm: Now in their sixth year, Ontario Dance Academy is a high level academic studio, focusing on technical skill, and developing the advanced dancer. Their studio offers exams in RAD, BATD and Acrobatic Arts. New this year, they also offer pre-professional fine art programming.
* Salsa Dancing Lessons from Alexandra Pacheco- 2 pm to 4 pm: Immerse yourself in the sultry world of salsa dancing as skilled instructors lead you through the sizzling moves of this Latin dance style.
In addition to the dynamic dance experiences, Dancing in the District is thrilled to offer free face painting (12 pm – 3 pm) and free freezies (while quantities last) to help you beat the summer heat!
