Loyalist College Parrott Centre Job Opportunity

Loyalist College’s library, The Parrott Centre, has an opening for a library technician, and it looks to be a pretty good gig!

The posting opened up yesterday on the College’s job board, and features a $28.20/hour wage. Reporting to the Director of Library Services, this position provides support in acquisitions, serials, cataloging and circulation. The incumbent assists students and faculty in locating and utilizing subject matter appropriate materials.

 

There are some responsibilities listed on the posting, including:

• Reference and circulation services for students, staff and community users
• Development and updating of research guides
• Indexing of The Pioneer [Loyalist College’s newspaper]

There are also some qualifications you need to have to be considered for the job, like:

• Completion of a two (2) year Library and Information Technician Diploma
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Library Services, preferably in an academic setting
• Proven communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written communication)
