Warming Centres have kicked in earlier than expected in Belleville and Quinte West, due to the fluctuating temperature. Hastings County Council approved a request during their meeting yesterday to open the Belleville and Quinte West Warming Centres as of today.

BELLEVILLE – The Overnight warming centre located at 93 Dundas St. East (former police station) will be open for the winter tonight, December 1st, and operate between the hours of 8 p.m. and 8 a.m., seven nights a week until March 31, 2024. During the day, individuals are encouraged to utilize public facilities to stay warm.
Please note that this is a warming centre for individuals to come in from the cold. Beds and meals are not provided. Those seeking other social service supports are encouraged to contact Hastings County Community and Human Services at 613-771-9630 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or the after-hours emergency line at 1-877-528-9514 between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. for more information on services provided.
The Quinte West Warming Centre is at the Trenton United Church. Both sites will be open seven days a week from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. The Bancroft site is reportedly not ready to open yet.
