Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting five more COVID-19 related deaths, in their weekly report posted today.
It is not clear if the fatalities were recent or logged in now as a result of data management on the health unit’s side.
A total of 147 local residents have now died since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
The health unit has logged 33 new high-risk infections in the last week. There are now a total of 39 active high-risk infections between the two counties.
Quinte Health has seen a slight drop in the number of local patients in hospital due to COVID-19.
Quinte Health is averaging 18 local residents in care, with two in the ICU.
There are two COVID-19 outbreaks in high-risk settings, impacting Hallowell House in the County and Hastings Manor in Belleville. A significant drop in outbreaks since the surge started again in the fall.
