The Quinte region will be one of the best places in North America to watch the total solar eclipse on April 8th.
We’ll descend into darkness in the middle of the afternoon for a brief period.
The Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board is offering $500 grants for participating businesses and organizations within the broader area.
Those who are eligible to apply can be in Belleville, Quinte West, Brighton, Napanee, and Tyendinaga.
The money can be used to go towards special events and experiences geared towards the eclipse.
“Destinations all across southeastern Ontario will be seeing a significant influx of visitors here for this once-in-a-lifetime event. We want to actively support our local operators to offer activities that will give those visitors more to do while they’re here for the eclipse and also encourage them to stay here a little longer,” said Executive Director Dug Stevenson, in a statement.
Application will be available online until February 25th. To learn more visit
