Shirley Langer, the former Mayor of Belleville has died

The City of Belleville has announced that Shirley Langer has passed away.

She served as the Mayor of Belleville from 1991 to 1994.

Langer was a passionate supporter of the environment, sustainability and the arts. Flags have been lowered across municipal buildings in Belleville.

Funeral arrangements have not been announced at this time.
