Prince Edward County has released the following statement.
The County is looking to attract a diverse range of dedicated community volunteers to serve on the following advisory committees, working group, and board:
Built and Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee: suitable for someone with an understanding of conservation of cultural heritage values or interests, as well as cemeteries.
Accessibility Advisory Committee: suitable for someone with an understanding of the social and environmental impact of accessibility on our community.
Bloomfield/Hallowell, Hillier, and Wellington Ward Recreation Committees: suitable for someone who has a passion for bringing their ward together or has party planning experience.
Krasyliv Friendship City Working Group: suitable for someone with an interest in cultural exchanges.
Becoming a member of a citizen committee, working group or board offers residents a unique chance to volunteer their highly valued skills and knowledge to strengthen our shared sense of community.
To be eligible to serve on a committee, applicants must be:
a Canadian citizen, or permanent resident living in Prince Edward County; or
a property or business owner in the County of Prince Edward;
a minimum of 16 years of age or older
There may be additional eligibility requirements required by legislation for membership, which are outlined in the terms of reference.
