The Belleville DBIA has issued the following statement.
Enchanted Holiday Market wraps up in Downtown Belleville
The Enchanted Holiday Market in Downtown Belleville brought festive cheer to the community with three weekends of holiday magic from November 29 to December 15.
One of the biggest highlights was the free horse and carriage rides, which became a favourite for families, offering a picturesque way to enjoy the holiday lights and decorations downtown.
As visitors strolled through Market Square, they were greeted by the sweet sounds of the Belleville Theatre Guild Carollers and could warm up with a cup of gourmet hot chocolate, with proceeds supporting The Community Development Council of Quinte, United Way Hastings & Prince Edward, and Three Oaks Foundation.
Throughout the event, there was something for everyone, from free smores—with over 900 treats distributed—to live music by local talents like Spencer Evans, Andy Forgie, the Mistletones, the Christmas Belles, and a dance party by BJ the DJ. These performances kept the festive spirit alive while attendees explored the charming artisan market housed in wooden huts.
The fun didn’t stop there—kids had a blast with face painting, holiday crafts hosted by the Belleville Public Library and Your Creative Junction, balloon art, performances by busker Kobbler Jay, and making a holiday centrepiece by Flowers by Dustin.
There was a Scavenger Hunt activity every Saturday at over a dozen downtown locations, as well as free Bingo games every Sunday, with the Belleville Senators’ mascot “Belly” participating and handing out Sens tickets and prizes during the last weekend.“Kringle Krawl” was also launched during Enchanted, with 11 downtown restaurants serving one-of-a-kind holiday drinks.
The event’s lineup of family-friendly activities also included Santa photos, where families could capture festive memories, and even pet photos, ensuring no one was left out of the holiday fun.
For those shopping for the perfect gift, the Enchanted Holiday Market was a haven of locally made treasures and unique finds from 19 vendors housed in wooden huts, as well as a Downtown Belleville DBIA hut selling products from downtown members.
The Enchanted Holiday Market delivered on its promise of fun, laughter, and holiday cheer. It was the perfect way to start the season, bringing together the best of community, local artisans, and festive traditions.
The Downtown Belleville DBIA would like to thank those who attended the event, and invites everyone to attend the upcoming Savour the Chill soup contest to be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025.
