Prince Edward County has issued the following update.
All residents are invited to dispose of their dead, intact household batteries curbside from Monday, March 10 to Friday, March 14 and Monday, March 17 to Friday, March 21.
AA, AAA, C, D, 9V, 6V, and button cell batteries will be collected on the dates corresponding with your regular recycling collection days.
To dispose of your batteries, place a small piece of masking tape on exposed terminals of all lithium, button cell, and rechargeable batteries to prevent fire hazards. Place the batteries inside a clear re-sealable bag. Seal the bag and place it on top of your papers blue box.
Please note: larger batteries, light bulbs and electronics are not accepted in this curbside program.
Quinte Waste Solutions reminds you to have your blue box to the curb by 7 am on your collection day.
