It’s the fifth day of a support staff strike across all of Ontario’s 24 colleges.
Support staff, represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union, went on strike Thursday after a new agreement could not be reached with the College Employer Council.
Loyalist College remains open and classes continues as scheduled.
Two union leaders will be joining Loyalist support staff on the picket line this morning. OPSEU President JP Hornick will be joined by Laura Walton, the President of the Ontario Federation of Labour. The two will meet with local staff at 10 a.m to hold a solidarity rally.
Hornick was at the College at the start of the month for a rally that highlighted program and staff cuts at Loyalist.
