Quinte West Council has filled the vacant seat left behind by late Councillor Sally Freeman.
At the Council meeting last night, Council formally declared Freeman’s seat vacant, following her passing last month.
Council voted to welcome the next person on the ballot, based on results from the 2022 election. Leslie Roseblade has been chosen.
Quinte West Council previously selected this path in 2023, following the death of Councillor Terry Cassidy. Roseblade was at the meeting last night, and thanked council for their support. Roseblade will serve until next November, the end of the council term.
Councillor Don Kuntze did call for a by-election instead, but his motion did not receive further support around the table.
