The local health unit has reversed plans to close several smaller offices.
Earlier this fall, SouthEast Public Health announced that they would be closing offices in smaller communities, in an effort to streamline operations and services.
Offices that were initially planned to close in March of next year, included Picton, Trenton, Bancroft, and Napanee. The move was met with significant local pushback, prompting the Board to ask for a pause and a formal review as to what led to the decision.
This week, the Board of Health with SouthEast Public Health, formally decided to keep the offices open. A full review is set to be completed in September.
