If you are looking to fill your calendar, or try something different, a variety of organizations in Quinte could use your support.
Here is the Volunteer Information Quinte Update.
*West Lake Terrace in Picton is looking for volunteers to offer friendly visits to their residents. Volunteers are needed for 1 hour per week, with flexible time of day.
*The Brain Injury Association Quinte District is looking for peer support volunteers to provide telephone/email support to a partner who is facing similar Acquired Brain Injury problems. Volunteers must be 16 years or older and have sustained a brain injury or have a family member or partner who has survived a brain injury.
*The Community Recreation Association at CFB Trenton is looking for people to greet and assist visitors, provide information about programs and schedules, help clean and offer general customer service. Schedules are flexible on weekdays and weekends.
*The Madoc Public Library is seeking volunteers to organize library materials. Volunteers may also help with displays and special events. Library hours are Tuesday-Thursday from 3:30 – 7:30 p.m., Wednesday-Friday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10am-1pm. Volunteers will be trained by a staff member.
*Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association is looking for volunteers to offer reassurance to seniors via telephone. Volunteers provide a warm and friendly conversation to seniors to alleviate loneliness, reduce social isolation, and help keep them safe. Orientation and ongoing staff support is available.
*Continuing On in Education is seeking volunteers for evening bingos. COED operates 3 bingos per month, from 5:45 – 9:30 p.m.. one Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday per month. Training is provided on-site.
*Trenton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is looking for volunteers in the Emergency Department of Trenton Memorial Hospital. Volunteers establish contact with patients and families arriving at the Emergency Department and direct or assist them where appropriate. Volunteers must have compassion, patience, a calm demeanor, and the ability to work independently at times. Orientation is provided.
*Community Care for South Hastings is seeking volunteer drivers for their Meals on Wheels program. Volunteers deliver hot or frozen meals to clients’ doorsteps on weekdays with flexible scheduling. You must possess your own vehicle and complete a criminal record check.
*Museums of Prince Edward County are looking for front desk volunteers onsite at their various locations. Volunteers are needed on weekdays and weekends, with time of day being flexible from May-October.
*Trent Valley Lodge in Trenton is seeking volunteers to assist residents play bingo at 2pm on Monday afternoons. Orientation is provided.
Volunteer Information Quinte refers volunteers to more than 275 agencies throughout Hastings and Prince Edward counties.
