The City of Belleville has announced a change for Canada Day.
Due to the heat, city staff will now open the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., as a cooling centre only. All other programs and services are cancelled due to Canada Day. The Belleville Public Library is the city’s other cooling centre, but will be closed for Canada Day as originally planned.
The city’s official cooling centers are as follows, and their scheduled have been posted.
Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre
- Open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Canada Day (July 1): Open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for cooling. Please use the west entrance on Canada Day.
Belleville Public Library
- Monday to Thursday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Closed on Sundays through Sept. 6
- Closed on Canada Day (July 1)
