A proposed data centre at the former Saputo factory, north of Highway 401, in Trenton – dominated much of the discussion at the Quinte West Council meeting last night.
A few people brought forward concerns once again.
Councillor Boyce had been calling for Quinte West to decide to pause any decisions around data centres for up to a year, until staff can study the impact and have local frameworks in place.
Councillor O’Neil called for a deferral to that decisions, citing that the business community has not been given enough time to share views.
In the end, Quinte West Council voted to hold off on making a decisions about Councillor Boyce’s motion, until the final council meeting of this term, on October 7th.
