Belleville Police continue to thank the community for their ongoing support, following the shooting at the Sons of Jacob Synagogue on Sunday.
In a statement yesterday, Belleville Police add that they would like to thank the community for the” overwhelming support, kind messages, thoughts, prayers, and well wishes.”
Belleville Police continue to stress that injured Constable Jeff Smith faces a long road to recovery. Belleville Police ask that his privacy, and that of his family, be honored.

Aside from the GoFundMe Page for Constable Smith, another online fundraiser has emerged to help the Sons of Jacob Synagogue.
The windows of the building were damaged.
The community has launched a $90,000 GoFundMe Page to help with security and repair the windows.
