*The Trenton Care and Share Food Bank are looking for volunteers to assist with decorating Tim Horton’s Smile Cookies from November 17th to 2 th . Shifts are available from 10-12:30 and 12:30-3:30 PM at four Tim Hortons locations.
*Community Development Council of Quinte is looking for volunteer drivers to deliver Good Food Boxes to depots throughout Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. Volunteers help load, transport and unload boxes twice a month, on the second and fourth Tuesday, from 7:30 a.m. until approximately 4:30 p.m. Training is provided. A driver’s abstract and criminal record check are required, and volunteers must be able to lift 50 pounds.
*Links to Learning is looking for volunteer tutors to help children with reading by following a set curriculum. Volunteers should be friendly, confident and able to commit to one weekly session for a minimum of six months. Tutoring takes place Mondays or Tuesdays from 3:30–5:30 p.m. in Belleville. High school students are welcome!
*Kentwood Park Nursing Home is looking for volunteers to help residents play Bingo on Thursday evenings from 6–7:30 p.m. It’s a fun and easy opportunity to spend time with residents and help make their evening enjoyable.
*Central Hastings Support Network is looking for volunteer drivers in Belleville to take clients to appointments. Drivers can choose which trips they accept, with appointments anywhere in Belleville or as far as Kingston or Toronto. Volunteers use their own vehicles and receive mileage reimbursement. A valid G license, police check and driver’s abstract are required.
*EnviroCentre is looking for outreach volunteers in Belleville and surrounding communities to connect residents with free energy affordability programs. Volunteers will share information, answer questions and engage with community members at local events and workshops 1–2 times per month. Training is provided, and volunteers should have an interest in sustainability and helping underserved communities.
*Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association is looking for reception volunteers to help at its Community Care office or foot care clinics. Volunteers should enjoy a fast-paced environment and can contribute just three hours a week. Orientation, ongoing support and mentoring are provided.
*Community Recreation Association CFB Trenton is looking for volunteers to help lead activities for children ages 6–12. Volunteers can assist with a variety of programs, including sports, drama, art and science.
*Snow Angels Canada is looking for volunteers to help neighbours who need assistance shovelling snow. Volunteers can connect with people in their community who need a helping hand and choose when they’re available to lend one. No formal training is required, just bring a shovel and be ready to help!
*Volunteers are also needed for the event this Saturday.
