The Belleville Downtown District BIA will host their third annual Savour The Flavour – Mac and Cheese Competition this Saturday.
The following businesses will put forward their best recipe for people to try from noon to 3 p.m., or until supplies run out. Each sample is $4 and cash only.
Participating downtown restaurants include:
*Bayleaf Indian Cuisine – Indo-Chinese Cheesy Hakka Noodles (VG)
*Bourbon Street Pizza Co. – The Notorious P.I.G
*Burger Revolution – Dragon Mac Fries
*Capers – Beef Bulgogi with Togarashi Mornay Cheese Sauce
*Gourmet Diem – Chilli Mac
*Indian Vibe – Makhani Paneer Mac & Cheese
*The Kafana – Mac & Cheesecake (VG)
*L’Auberge de France – Parisian Style Mac & Cheese
*Law & Orders – The Order of Mac-law
*Memorial Canteen & Beer Garden – Duck Confit Mac n’ Cheese
*The Neighbourhood – Strawberry Mac and Cream Cheese
*Obi’s Kitchen – Smoked Pulled Pork Mac and Cheesy
*Paulo’s & Dinkel’s Restaurant – Alpine Baked Mac & Cheese
*Pearl Bubble Tea – Japanese Curry Cheesy Mac
*Sans Souci – Triple M (Mustard, Meat & Macaroni)
*Tropical Blends – Haitian Style Mac & Cheese
Voting for the People’s Choice Award can be done in-person at the Downtown Belleville booth located at the corner of Front St and Bridge St East, as well as online through the Downtown Belleville website, or by scanning QR codes on event posters at each participating restaurant.
The judges for the event include George Wang (owner of George Wang EXP Realty), Jessie Wionzek (owner of Doki Doki), Cindy Iamundo (winner of Downtown Belleville social media giveaway), as well as representatives from event sponsor Lactalis Canada will be the final judges.
