The Highland Shores Children’s Aid Society has released the following statement:
Dress Purple Day (October 29, 2026) is a provincial campaign celebrating the people, relationships and services that help children, youth and families thrive. Each October, child welfare agencies and community partners across Ontario unite to show that supporting families is a shared responsibility.
The campaign promotes early support, local partnerships and children’s right to safety and well-being, while helping them identify trusted adults and support networks.
It Takes a Community, the 2026 theme, reflects our shared role in supporting children, youth and families. #HereToHelp highlights the people, organizations and services available in their communities.
On Dress Purple Day, wear purple to show that no child or family is alone. Share photos and videos using #DressPurpleDay2026 #IDressPurpleBecause #HereToHelp.
Dress Purple events will coincide with Highland Shores Children’s Aid Branch community partner open houses, with attendees encouraged to wear purple and social media promotion continuing throughout October.
Teachers can access classroom resources to help students explore their rights and support networks.
