Reactions continue to pour in over Saturday’s incident at a training area within CFB Wainwright in Alberta.
Four Canadian Armed Forces members died, with 39 others taken to hospital, including 19 in critical condition.
A fire spread rapidly outside the boundaries of the training centre.
Bay of Quinte MP Chris Malette has issued the following statement.
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic incident at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, their fellow service members and everyone affected by this devastating fire. Through our close and supportive relationship with the military community at CFB Trenton, we know firsthand the strength, dedication and sacrifice of the men and women who serve our country. Today, Canadians across the country are united in our support and care for our friends and family in uniform and the loved ones who stand beside them every day.”
