New sign revealed this week outside the Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Belleville / Lindsey Harren.
A show of solidary, peace, and unity brought together 150 people yesterday for a Prayer Walker For Peace in Belleville.
The walk from the St. Thomas Anglican Church to the East-Hill Park, was an idea that started after the September 20th, hate motivated shooting at the Sons of Jacob Synogoue.
Belleville Police Chief Murray Rodd, told people at the park during a series of speeches, that police are convinced it was divine intervention that the right officers were at the scene at the right time.
The Sons of Jacob Synogogue has placed a new sign outside their building this week, formally thanking Belleville Police and the two officers who intervened Constables Smith and McCurdy.
Belleville Police Chaplain Brad Beale says there is talk of the walk being an annual event.
He added that the outpouring of support and solidarity after the attack was not a surprise, but the attack itself was.
