Avid listeners of our weekly Volunteer Information Quinte Update will know about Strong Start.
Strong Start, the Canadian children’s literacy charity, is always looking for volunteers locally to go into elementary schools and help kids with reading.
This year is the 25th anniversary of Strong Start.
Three members from the team joined us on the show this week. The CEO, Machelle Denison, shared more about the organization along with Loa Zilles, who is the director of program and early literacy specialist. Cindy Desbiens, who is the regional program co-ordinator, shared more about how people in Quinte can get involved.
Strong Start has three programs – Letters, Sounds and Words, Get Ready For School, and Baby Connections.
