Toronto band the MONOWHALES stopped by our 91X studio during the New Rock 30 this past Saturday. They were on their way to Kingston as they continued to wrap up their tour. Formally known as Ginger Ale and the Monowhales, the band consists of of Sally Shaar, Jordan Circosta, Holly Jamieson and Zach Zanardo. Their breakout single was “Home” in 2016.
This year, they won the Alternative Group of the Year Award, at the 2019 Indies as apart of Canadian Music Week. After a string of shows in the fall, they went to Vancouver to start recording their next album, with producer Ryan Worsley, who has worked with Brave Shores and Dear Rouge.
