The Quinte Trash Bash is coming up very soon!
The team has announced that the regional event will take place Saturday, May 14.
Here is the list of instructions that has been posted on the Quinte Trash Bash website.
Instructions for cleanup crews:
Step 1: Register online at quintetrashbash.ca and choose an area where you would like to pick up litter.
Step 2: Review your symptoms before and screen yourself before attending the event.
Step 3: Pick up litter from parks, green spaces and sidewalks on Saturday, May 14 or any day leading up to the event.
Supply kits (bags and gloves) will be available at designated Trash Bash stations on event day.
Supplies can also be picked up in advance if you want to do your cleanup early. – quintetrashbash.ca for more details.
Step 4: Bring your collected garbage to a Trash Bash drop-off station on Saturday, May 14 from 9am to 1pm – quintetrashbash.ca for more details.
Too BIG to haul?
If you come across something really big or heavy (such as furniture), take note of the location and contact your community representative. Do not pick it up. Too dangerous to haul? If you come across something too dangerous to pick up (such as needles, flammable liquids, etc.). Do not pick it up.
If found on public property call please contact HPE Public Health Unit 613-966-5500 relating to the safe disposal of garbage.
Participants are encouraged to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when picking up trash.
Supply Kit contains: Nitrile gloves, garbage bag, event instructions
BE SAFE. Stay away from riverbanks.
Stay off of private property.
Be mindful of vehicle traffic.
Wear bright colours.
