The Belleville Police Service has shared some very good news with the community today.
Staff have announced in a statement that four of their female colleagues were recognized earlier this month at the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement Gala. The OWLE event took place in Mississauga. Since 1999, the annual event has been shining a light on the achievements by women working in law enforcement.
Local Inspector Sheri Meeks, Constable Monique Waite, Detective Constable Ann Earle-Dempsey, Joanne Zimmerman and Laura Fernandes were all recognized for 25 years of service.
