
The holiday storm is creating some havoc on the roads and for utility companies.
Strong winds and blowing snow has caused many communities in the Quinte region to loose power.
Hydro One is reporting several outages:
- Mountain View area in Prince Edward County where roughly 600 people are impacted.
- Between Wallbridge and Frankford, North of Highway 401. Crews hope to restore power to over 300 customers by 8 p.m. tonight.
- Trenton has 600 customers out of power in and around Dixon Road. Estimated time is 8 p.m.
- There are about 28 outages in the Brighton area impacting over 6,000 customers.
- Bancroft’s power outages are impacting over 7,000 customers. Crews are dealing with over 60 separate outages. The power is expected to be back on by 11 p.m. tonight.
Mamora has closed its municipal office and has declared a Significant Weather Event. The YMCA branches in Trenton and Belleville have closed earlier, along with the Picton and Wellington arenas and the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
