Off-season starts for the Belleville Senators, while the Trenton Golden Hawks move on

One local team is starting the off-season, while another keeps moving on in the playoffs.

The Belleville Senators wrapped up their regular season in the AHL with a loss to the Marlies yesterday in Toronto. The Marlies beat the Senators 7-2. Belleville finished their sixth season in Quinte with 72 points in 72 regular season games. They finished just four points out of a playoff spot. The Ottawa Senators farm team has only been in the playoffs once since moving north of the border.

The Trenton Golden Hawks are getting ready for their third-round OJHL playoff series. Trenton beat the Wellington Dukes 2-1 in double overtime on Friday, to close out the South East Conference Final. Trenton will face off against Collingwood, the winners of the North West Conference Final. A schedule is expected to be released shortly.
